The Photographers' Gallery opened in 1971 as the UK's first public gallery for photography and has worked from Ramillies Street in Soho since 2012.

Frith Street Gallery, founded by Jane Hamlyn in Soho in 1989, now holds most of its exhibitions in a purpose-built space on Golden Square.
