Frith Street Gallery was founded in 1989 by Jane Hamlyn in a Georgian townhouse at 60 Frith Street, just off Soho Square. In 2007 it moved to a large, purpose-built space at 17–18 Golden Square, which now holds most of its exhibitions, while the original Soho building hosts occasional presentations.
The gallery works with contemporary artists across painting, sculpture, film, video, installation and performance, and has placed their work in public and private museums around the world. In autumn 2026 its artists are also showing at institutions abroad, with Cornelia Parker at City Gallery Wellington, Thomas Schütte at K21 in Düsseldorf and Tacita Dean at the Marciano Art Foundation in Los Angeles.

Golden Square
From 3 July to 7 August 2026 Golden Square held two archive exhibitions side by side: Summer Show: Multiple Narratives and To the Dance: eight works by Nancy Spero 1926–2009.

Colin Self’s exhibition Unseen is on view from 18 September to 7 November 2026, accompanied by an exhibition film released by the gallery. Jaki Irvine’s Five lines of song-smoke follows, opening on 19 November.

The gallery opens Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 6pm and on Saturdays from 11am to 5pm during exhibitions.
