FAQ

Answers to common questions about proposing work, preparing images and working with Sketchure.

What can I submit?

We consider contemporary art, design, architecture and interiors, craft, exhibitions, objects, publications, interviews and related cultural work. A proposal should have a clear editorial angle and enough visual and factual information for us to assess it.

Does a project need to be new?

We prioritise recently completed projects and exhibitions currently open or announced. Older work may be considered when it offers a strong reason for a new story, such as a significant archive, anniversary, publication or return to public view. Please state the relevant dates clearly.

Who should send the proposal?

Artists, designers, architects, studios, galleries, museums, curators, publicists and authorised representatives may submit. The person submitting should be able to answer questions about the project and confirm who controls the rights to the text and images.

How many images do you need?

Please provide at least five distinct images where available. A width of 1,500 pixels is the minimum guide; full-resolution originals are preferred. Send a varied set with clear captions, photographer credits and a link that our editors can access. We may request additional images if a story is selected.

Can I send image attachments?

The submission form is designed for links to a cloud folder or press kit, not large file attachments. Check that link permissions allow viewing and tell us if a password is needed. Do not use a link that expires before the editorial team can review it.

What credits are required?

List all relevant contributors, including artists or designers, studios, collaborators, commissioners, venues, curators and photographers. Identify who made each image and provide captions that accurately describe the work. If a credit is unknown or disputed, tell us before publication.

Do you charge to review a submission?

No fee is required to send a proposal for editorial consideration. Payment does not secure independent editorial coverage. Commercial partnerships, if agreed, are handled separately and clearly distinguished from editorial decisions.

When will I hear back?

Review times vary with the volume and timing of submissions. We cannot guarantee a response to every proposal or provide a fixed decision date. If the editors need more information or wish to discuss publication, they will contact the address provided in your submission.

Will you edit my text or crop my images?

Editors may revise submitted information for clarity, length, house style and accuracy, and may select or crop images to suit the page format. We will take care not to misrepresent the work. Significant factual questions and image credits should be resolved with you before publication.

Can I submit the same project again?

If the project has changed substantially, new work has been completed or new information becomes available, you may send an updated proposal that explains what is new. Please avoid sending repeated copies of the same submission.
