Privacy

This Privacy Policy describes the information Sketchure receives through its website and editorial correspondence, how it is used and how to contact us with a request.

Who is responsible

Sketchure Magazine is responsible for the information described in this policy. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@sketchure.net or write to Stockport Rd, Longsight, Manchester M13 0RQ, United Kingdom.

Information we receive

When you contact us or submit a project, we may receive the details you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, organisation, professional role, project description, website and social links, image credits, rights information and links to press materials. The submission form does not accept image-file uploads. If you email us, the contents and attachments of your message are also received by our editorial team.

When you visit the website, our hosting and security systems may process technical information needed to deliver pages, maintain the service and investigate misuse. This can include browser or device details, requested pages, approximate network information and security logs. WordPress may use cookies for site functions, including administration and logged-in sessions. Embedded content or links from other services may operate under their own privacy and cookie policies.

How we use information

  • to respond to editorial, press and general enquiries;
  • to review proposals and verify project details, authorship, captions and image permissions;
  • to prepare, edit and publish selected stories, with appropriate credits and permissions;
  • to operate, maintain and protect the website and its systems; and
  • to meet legal obligations or address a legitimate claim where necessary.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use a submission to publish a person’s contact details. Information is shared only where needed for the purposes above, such as with the website, hosting, security, storage or email providers supporting the service, or where disclosure is required by law.

Editorial material and credits

If a project is selected, relevant names, project information, captions and images may be published as part of the story. We work to confirm these details with the people who submit the project and the relevant rights holders. Please do not send private or confidential material unless it is necessary for review and you are authorised to share it.

Cookies and third-party services

Essential cookies or similar technologies may be used to keep the website secure and make its functions work. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. The site may link to or embed material from third-party platforms; those services may collect information directly from your browser under their own terms. Images published on Sketchure are delivered through WordPress media and external storage infrastructure, including Amazon S3.

Retention and security

We keep correspondence and submission information for as long as it is needed to review a proposal, maintain editorial records, support published work, resolve rights questions or meet legal obligations. We take reasonable steps to limit access to people and service providers who need the information for these purposes. No method of online transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and requests

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may be able to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information you have sent us, or object to a particular use. We may need to retain information connected with a published story, a rights record or a legal obligation. To make a request, email info@sketchure.net and describe the information concerned.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy when our practices or the website change. The latest version will be published on this page with its revision date.
